The essay should be up to 2,500 words (minimum 2,000 words) excluding references and figures. You are advised to back up any statements that you make with evidence, and references should be properly cited in the text and tabulated in the normal way at the end of the work (Harvard or Vancouver style). You are encouraged to use diagrams where appropriate to illustrate the work. The mark scheme that will be used to assess the essay is attached. References, figures, tables, and legends are not included in the word count.
