Question: As you conducted your needs analysis, were there any results that surprised you? Did your assessment provide new insights on other projects that could be conducted? Did they support the initial scope of your project?

Answer:

I think the most surprising thing about my needs analysis for the implementation of a formal remote work force program is the necessity of needing one now more than ever. Before the Covid-19 outbreak, only 7% of workers in the U.S. had access to a “flexible workplace” benefit, or telework compared with 57% who work remotely now, although this varies by industry (Dickler, 2021). Flexible work is here to stay, but companies that resist it may not be. In the post-Covid world of work, many businesses have had to make tough decisions about restructuring, downsizing and overall strategy. And one key development that is clearly here to stay is the increased emphasis on remote work.
