General instructions
While this is an assignment in its own right, this should also act as a manuscript outline for the manuscript you will write for Lab 4. Fill in the sections below with a point of two that you would include in the indicated paper sections. In some cases, the manuscript section has been broken down into paragraphs. You should indicate a point of two (and point form is fine) you would make in the paragraph(s) in the section. You do not have to write each of the paragraphs indicated; you are to draft them. Indicate generally what you will write about in each paragraph as indicated below. You do NOT need in-text citations for your outline (though you will need them for your manuscript, of course).
Students should read/watch the material in the ‘Writing scientific manuscripts’ folder in ‘General lab items’ on Blackboard before attempting this outline as it covers the structure and format of scientific manuscripts that is critical to making a good outline (Lab 3) and writing a good manuscript (Lab 4).
